It’s a nice feeling when you make your own dressings. DIY dressings is a practice I am familiar with and their is loads of flexibility in the making. Its magic in a bottle!
I am showing in this post how to make your own balsamic vinaigrette. Ta da!
Balsamic vinaigrette is one of the many dressings that I make from scratch. Over the years I have put my own spin on things and experimented with adding a variety of herbs. The concoction below is my favorite. Its thick, creamy, and also has that balsamic tang. I find myself putting more greens on my plate just so I can eat it with the dressing! You can also make a bigger batch and use it as a marinade for dinner.
Can you say, “Yum!”
Perks: It’s super quick, super easy, and super cost effective….aka cheap! Haha, yes! Score all the way around am I right! Plus you don’t have all those preservatives that is incorporated in the store bought bottle.
- 1/2 cups balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 2 cloves of garlic minced
- 2 tsp dried parsley flakes
- 1 tsp maple syrup
- 2 tsp Dijon mustard
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
Mix all ingredients in bowl and pour into a mason jar or some kind of enclosed bottle.
Its very versatile, you can make a honey balsamic or a fruity kind too. I like the basics. Enjoy on a bed of greens!
On a personal note, life has been very good to us! Evelyn is very excited about Easter, and I have all her presents already done. gold star for this Momma! we also finally got our taxes filed, took us way to long because I had been procrastinating… then it was hanging over my head so I procrastinated a little bit longer….but we finally did it last week and we are good to go!
This past Sunday we celebrated my moms birthday. I have been on a roll hosting parties this past year so I thought, whats one more? I also wanted to make my mom feel super special because she deserves it. Turned out to be a hit and she was very happy, which in turned made me very happy. It was a small party but it made it that much more personal and all of my siblings came together to make a sentiment gift for my mom, it was a hit and she cried! It may sound disturbing but I get a twinge of happiness when I get one of my loved ones to cry out of happiness. Success.
