Gooooooooood Moooooorning Vietnam!!
Name that movie;) (hint: Robin Williams)
Starting the morning off really well so far, had my roasty toasty coffee and cuddled up under a warming blanket with Evelyn:) Its still very cold here and the temperature just keeps dropping. I am going to try to make it outside today hehe getting a little bit of cabin fever.
To help get me a little bit of motivation I am going to make my own energy drink this morning. That’s right, energy drink! When I think of an energy drink I think of monsters or rockstar drinks. This energy drink is actually a naturally wholesome drink that has only two ingredients. Yep, two ingredients again. Pretty easy. right?
1 tablespoon of chia seed
8 ounces of water
Shake well and enjoy! I prefer to drink with a straw because after a few minutes the chia seeds like to migrate to the bottom.
Chia seeds were very common during the Mayans and Aztecs diet. Given the chias tiny size, they are one of the most nutritious foods on the planet. Once you try this energy drink I guarantee in 15 minutes you will be buzzing around like a happy bumble bee and ready to do something great…. perhaps conquer the world.
Like I said, a natural and wholesome energy drink. Below I included the nutrients held inside 1 ounce of chia seed.
- Fiber: 11 grams.
- Protein: 4 grams.
- Fat: 9 grams
- Calcium: 18%
- Manganese: 30%
- Magnesium: 30%
- Phosphorus: 27%
- They also contain Zinc, Vitamin B3 (Niacin), Potassium, Vitamin B1 and Vitamin B2
Isn’t this so great! So today I have included 5 ways to incorporate this wonderful seed into your palette. When I first started to include the chia seeds in our diet I instantly started feeling better and getting more accomplished in my day.
5 Ways to Incorporate more Chia Seeds
- Make yourself an easy, natural, and wholesome energy drink:)
- Put them in your morning smoothies.
- Include them in salads like below…yum!
- Sneak them in marinara sauce
- Make a parfait with them ( I plan on creating overnight chia seed pudding on here in the near future!)
- Bonus: Put them in soups!
Lots of fun ways to incorporate them without the kiddies knowing and helping them reap the benefits!
Now its time for us to put some winter coats on and some snugly boots. Going to breathe some fresh winter air here in a few! Hope you all have a wonderful and motivated day;)
