Mornings are very special to me. They are precious and slow. I get to embrace my sleepy head daughter and start the day fresh and new.
Every morning I have a routine. This routine is something I look forward to everyday. It goes like this:
- Start a morning cup of coffee (very important in my routine!)
- Make our breakfast
- Clean up and wipe counters
- Sweep the entire house
- Make our beds
- Brush our teeth
- Get ready for our day
Ta da!! And that is our morning routine! Every day. This gives myself structure, if all else fails throughout the day, I still have my morning routine done. And sweeping my entire house may seem extreme but I have all wood floors, with two dogs in the house, so I have to stay on top of it!
How to Start A Morning Routine
I started my routine about a year ago, when I became a stay at home mom, I was looking for what I needed to get done for myself to be happy. And I listed it down, and started to do it every day. They say after 21 days it then becomes a habit;)
Everyone is Different
First thing on my list is for me and me alone. This is important, whether this list is just for you or you have kids, you need to make time for yourself, so do what fits you. Mine is coffee, sometimes I mix it up with tea or lemon water if I am wanting a cleanse. Here are some ideas for you.
- Lemon water/tea
- Quick workout
All of the above things are focusing on one person. You. When you include a workout into your routine, you get this, “ahhh hhaaaaa” moment. I definitely would say this helps motivate you to have a more productive day! I would choose one of these items above (or something similar) to be the top of the list and then the rest is what you want to accomplish or need to be done for you to breathe easy for the rest of your day!
