So yay!! We are pregnant with baby number 2!
As I am sure you have seen with past posts, I have been very fatigued recently. Well, it turns out I was tired because I am growing another human.
We have been trying for another baby this year and when I took a pee test and those two pink lines popped up…I was speechless, in awe, ecstatic. Just so incredibly happy and excited.
With Evelyn, we broke the news to her at seven weeks and she broke it to the grandparents for us. She keeps exclaiming to everyone that she is a “superhero sister” and that she will protect the baby from any danger! Seriously the cutest thing known to man. So our family has been loaded on endorphins with our new exciting news and I just recently started to pull out of the fatigue/ nauseous drag thank goodness.
This is my second pregnancy, but with my first I found out very late in our pregnancy and I had almost no symptoms besides being emotional. This one is…. different, we were trying, I was prepared, and I got symptoms right away. My nose is like a hound dog, I can’t open the fridge, I have been very nauseous, not vomiting but very close to it and it seems like everything grosses me out. Which I really dislike because I have always found myself to be very open with food. And I have been very tired, like sit on the couch and want to sleep all day tired…which isn’t an option when you have a toddler running around.
These symptoms were continous through week 6 to week 9. It seemed like forever, but I am actually really lucky because I know a lot of women who don’t pull out of it at all. Now the constant having to pee feeling, well that won’t stop for me but a small price to pay!
So I would like to log week to week of my pregnancy on here. We will see how well it goes!
It has been wonderful. I had my first doctor’s appointment this week and we got to see our sweet baby! The heartbeat is strong and healthy. Looks like little butterfly wings fluttering with such a fast pace. Such eagerness with life! It makes me want to cry every time I think about it. Out of happiness for sure, it’s just such a precious gift that I am so grateful for and I hope for a safe journey through our pregnancy!
Symptoms-Like I said before, I am pulling out of the fatigue and nausea this week. Constipation has been kind of an issue here and there..sorry if TMI but it’s true and I helped it with more water and dietary fiber. Hormones have been getting to me this week with the water works, I am not so much moody just really sensitive, and happy.
Cravings-Fruit, I love it. Plums, apples, and mangoes specifically. I really haven’t had much of an appetite honestly and when I have been experiencing nausea, fruit is always a safe bet. I have been eating more in the morning and afternoon, in the evening I don’t eat much because that was when I was the most nauseated. That’s been changing gradually. Coffee has been out since I found out I was pregnant. I know it’s okay for the most part, just in moderation but I just nixed it entirely. I have been drinking tea and honey in the morning. Really eases my tummy.
My body- With my first pregnancy I didn’t get a bump until 6 ½-7 months. I am 5’8” and semi slender. But with my second, my stomach has already harden and starting to bump out just a smidge on my lower abdomen. I can’t believe the difference honestly. I have been walking for 30 minutes in the morning to start the day off right and hope to add some pregnancy safe workouts 3 times a week.
On a personal note, I really wanted to wait to share our sweet addition at 12 weeks, but my husband got a bit to excited and shared it..on social media..with everyone haha! Oh well I guess!
Also, my diet has been transitioned back to vegetarianism, I will still be posting a lot of vegan meals because that is what I primarily eat but I have been eating cheese again. Judge if you may but I am eating what my body wants while carrying this wee one!
The weather is getting chilly and I just love it! Leaves changing and that fresh crisp air in the morning. I appreciate every season we have here and don’t get my started on Christmas!!!! Literally an excited little kid in wooly socks counting down the days!
Have a wonderful day:)
