I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! It was absolutely stunning here in the north!
I have some exciting news to share with you. Our daughter just recently turned 3 years old! How it happened, I have no idea! Relapsing over the fact that she is no longer a baby is insane to us. She will always be our little girl!
So this past weekend she got to have her very first big girl birthday party with little friends and such! Up until now, it’s always just been family but not this year!
We had both family and friends alike. And I have to say I don’t think we will never not have a birthday party for our girl! She had a blast, and watching her play in her bedroom with her friends and all the new toys she was blessed with, seriously made my heart swell at the point which my body couldn’t contain!
On a personal note, the whole weekend was amazing…except the morning of. Evelyn and I had so much fun baking cupcakes for everyone. She was totally in full control of what sprinkles went on which cupcake (it’s a hard life). I, however, had a battle with a cake and lost.
I can honestly say I am not a baker (yet). Cooking is my forte but I do not have a lot of experience in baking and I can say, after this, I definitely need some practice! I don’t think I let the cake cool all the way and when I started putting the icing on it… thats when the horror began. While I was spreading the icing it took the actual cake with it too…so annoyingly aggravating. I was covered in flour with a spatula of icing in one hand while my eyes screamed murder. I eventually surrendered to the cake…covered it with sprinkles, and stuck a candle in the middle. Noah just thought I was hilarious, let me tell ya;)
Even though we decided last minute that we were going to give our daughter a full out party, it turned into a surprisingly amazing success. The party was planned within 48 hours and I was so grateful of all the people that attended. Evelyn truly had the time of her life! She was fueled with sweets and love, ran around in circles with her friends, and laughed all day. As a parent, I was so exuberant over my child’s happiness. Below was what all the little girls accomplished! Pretty impressive, right?!
My favorite part was singing happy birthday to her! Recognition of the song sparked in our daughter’s eyes…so she started to sing too. Then, about 10 seconds into it she froze, realizing everyone was singing to her and made all these awkward poses/faces. It was hilarious!
She was a champ blowing out the candles!
So proud of my girl, Noah and I wrote our annual letter to her the night before and set it to the side for the future. Always so much fun and so in love with our beautiful baby girl! Our little girl who was once three months, is now 3 years (happy tears). I love you to the moon sweetie!
